After a great success with HEMINGWAY BARCELONA, Luca Izzo proposed his second venue now in Madrid. Placed in a beautiful square, this cozy little cocktail bar, specializes in rare gins, worldwide whiskys and craft cocktails. Centrally located, in the Barrio de las letras District, with a charming terrace. Tiny place, big heart.

We have cocktails to suit all tastes, and also have a large selections of spirits for you to try.


Hemingway Cocktail Bar was established in MADRID in SEPTEMBER 2024. 

It takes its name from one of the most famous and influent writers, with an extreme passion for cocktails and good drinks.

By using only the finest spirits, freshest ingredients and by pressing all our citrus juices daily, our aim was and is to this day to meticulously care about the quality of every product going out to our clients. We aim to keep a consistent staff basis ensuring quality in training and standards of service and are constantly looking for innovative ways to give our guests a great memorable cocktail experience.

Stumbled upon this gem while searching for a respite and had the time of my life. Excellent selection and got to try some new gins. Cool but subtle decor, Jorge provided phenomenal service, playlist was bumping, and now I’m planning to check out the location in Barcelona in a couple days!
Such a great cocktail spot in Madrid! My husband and I came three nights in a row! Each drink was delicious and served in a cool glass (elephant, French bull dog, pipe, jellyfish, etc)! The bartender was also very friendly and professional! I would defintley recommend coming here and will be back if we ever come to Madrid again!
This was by far the best place for a cocktail we have experienced in all our travels around the world.. The bartender was welcoming and the cocktails not only creative but quite tasty and presentation excellent! They are up for an award for best cocktail bars of Spain & Portugal. He should definitely win!!

Best cocktails in Madrid in an intimate space with a very friendly staff and a beautiful little outside terrace for sunny cocktails.
I’ve spent a few evenings in a row in this bar. That’s how good the Hemingway bar in Madrid is. It’s a hidden gem you should visit, whether you’re here for a whole month or just one day. It’s petite and unpretentious, because a place with such a tasteful cocktail selection and high-quality flavors shouldn’t have to offer anything more than the taste itself. Highly recommended for those with good taste and high expectations.
If Ernest himself walked into Hemingway’s, he’d probably put down the daiquiri and pick up whatever sorcery they’re mixing behind this bar. Tucked off a quiet plaza, Hemingway’s is less a bar and more a shrine to the high art of cocktail creation — a miniature temple where glassware is sacred and every pour is poetry. I’ve sipped cocktails in Tokyo speakeasies, hidden Parisian dens, and rooftop bars in NYC, but nothing quite like this. Hemingway’s isn’t just a bar — it’s a reason to brag about your trip.
